The WCSLA is pleased to announce its
2007-2008 Workshop Series. We have made some changes to our
usual routine, so please read this letter carefully. Our
workshop series will continue to include three all day presentations
to facilitate our members’ needs for ongoing professional growth.
We would like to extend an invitation to all previous members,
Speech-Language Pathologists, Special Educators, and other
interested persons to join us in these great opportunities for
interaction and shared learning experiences. |

of a workshop, the workshop will be cancelled and rescheduled for a

Workshop 1:
“Auditory
Brain Stimulation: The Key to Developing Spoken Language and Literacy in
Infants and Children with Hearing Loss” presented
by Carol Flexer, Ph.D on Tuesday, October 30th, 2007.

Workshop
2: “A Day of Intervention Strategies” AM--
“The Expanding Expression Tool: A Multisensory
Approach to Defining and Describing” presented by Sara L. Smith,
MS, CCC-SLP. PM-- “Intervention Techniques
and Strategies for Children with (Central) Auditory Processing
Disorders” presented by Fran Eldis, Ph.D., both on Thursday,
December 6th, 2007.
Workshop 3:
“Does Napoleon Dynamite have Asperger
Syndrome” presented by Timothy P. Kowalski, M.A., CCC-SLP, on
Friday, May 2nd, 2008.
The
dates, times, fees (U.S. funds), and the deadlines for registration can
be found on the membership/registration page.
We are continuing to offer our “Early
Bird Special” a savings of $20 for members. Please note that, we will no longer allow walk-in
registrations. The deadline for registration
for all workshops is 7 days prior to workshop date.

The
Michigan Speech-Language-Hearing Association is approved by the
Continuing Education Board of the American Speech-Language-Hearing
Association (ASHA) t) to provide continuing education activities in
speech-language pathology and audiology. This program is offered for .5
CEUs (Intermediate Level: Basic Communication Processes area). ASHA CE
provider approval does not imply endorsement of course content, specific
products, or clinical procedures.
In addition to ASHA CEUs (all workshops), we also offer State Board CEUs.
Please remember to bring a $10 processing fee if interested and be
sure to sign in at the beginning of the workshop and out at the end. You
must attend the entire workshop to
receive CEU credit.
