The WCSLA is pleased to announce its
2008-2009 Workshop Series. Our workshop series will continue to
include three all day presentations to facilitate our members’ needs
for ongoing professional growth. We would like to extend an
invitation to all previous members, Speech-Language Pathologists,
Special Educators, and other interested persons to join us in these
great opportunities for interaction and shared learning experiences. |

(**If Livonia schools are closed due to inclement weather the day
of a workshop, the workshop will be cancelled and rescheduled for a
different date.**)

Workshop 1:
“A Responsiveness
to Intervention and SLP’s: Reinventing Who We Are” presented
by Barbara Ehren, Ed.D., CCC-SLP on Friday, October 10th, 2008.

Workshop
2: “How to Identify and Help
Individuals with Executive Dysfunction and Memory Problems” presented by
Roger Lauer, Ph.D and Isabelle Beaulieu, Ph.D, on Thursday, December
11th, 2008.

Workshop 3:
“Clinical Management of Preschool and
School-Age Children with Feeding and Swallowing Disorders” presented by
Nancy B. Swigert, M.A., CCC-SLP, BRS-S, on, Friday, May 8th, 2009.

dates, times, fees (U.S. funds), and the deadlines for registration can
be found on the membership/registration page.
We are continuing to offer our “Early
Bird Special” a savings of $20 for members. Please note that, we will no longer allow walk-in
registrations. The deadline for registration
for all workshops is 7 days prior to workshop date UNLESS the workshop
fills before that date.

The
Michigan Speech-Language-Hearing Association is approved by the
Continuing Education Board of the American Speech-Language-Hearing
Association (ASHA) to provide continuing education activities in
speech-language pathology and audiology. This program, each course, is offered for .5 CEUs (Intermediate Level:
Professional area). ASHA CE
provider approval does not imply endorsement of course content, specific
products, or clinical procedures.
In addition to ASHA CEUs (all workshops), we also offer State Board CEUs.
Please remember to bring a $10 processing fee if interested and be
sure to sign in at the beginning of the workshop and out at the end. You
must attend the entire workshop to
receive CEU credit.
